High Alumina Bricks Feature

High alumina brick is a commonly used refractory brick AL2O3 content more than 48% of aluminum silicate refractory brick materials collectively. It USES high bauxite as aggregate and can be produced by chemical bonding or sintering. The firing reaction is mainly the decomposition of kaolinite and bauxite and the secondary mullite process.

It is well known that high alumina brick is mainly used for lining of blast furnace, hot air furnace, electric furnace top, blast furnace, reverberatory furnace and rotary kiln. In addition, high alumina brick is also widely used as open hearth regenerator lattice brick, pouring system with the plug etc.



High aluminum brick molding drying, molding of the brick water content is generally above 3.5%, not immediately into the kiln firing, need to go through drying to reduce water. The drying system of the blank body varies with the different forming methods and the different single weight. The semi-dry forming billet should be dried in the tunnel dryer. The hot air temperature is 140~160℃, the exhaust gas temperature is 60~90℃, and the residual water of the billet should be less than 2%.

1. Fire resistance. High alumina brick than clay brick and semi - silicon brick refractory are higher, up to 1750-1790 degrees, belongs to the advanced refractory.

2. Softening temperature under load. Because of the high Al2O3 in high aluminum, miscellaneous quality, form the fusible vitreous, less so refractoriness under load is higher than clay bricks, high aluminum refractoriness under load is in commonly 1420-1550 degrees of above. However, the softening temperature under load is still not as high as that of silicon brick because mullite crystals do not form reticular structure.

3. Good slag resistance. Al2O3 more this series of refractory brick, close to neutral refractory, slag resistance to acid and alkaline slag erosion, due to containing the SiO2, so the ability of resistance to basic slag than weak ability to resist acid slag.

4. Strong resistance to chemical attack. The corrosion resistance, oxidation and reduction reactions of high alumina refractory products to acid or alkaline slag and metal liquid are very good, and it is enhanced with the increase of Al2O3 content and the decrease of harmful impurities content.



In order to reduce the porosity and improve the quality of high alumina brick, the molding pressure must be increased. For ordinary high aluminum brick, forming pressure should reach 137MP: degree high aluminum brick forming pressure should be in 176~215MP range. That is to say, only the use of 250t more than the grinding press brick machine molding, to achieve such an effect.
