Refractory silica brick belongs to acid refractory material, which has a strong resistance to acid slag erosion, but it is easy to be destroyed by Al2O3 and other oxides when it is strongly eroded by alkaline slag, and has good resistivity to iCaO, FeO, Fe2O3 and other oxides.
The thermal conductivity of this series of refractories increases with the increase of working temperature, and there is no residual shrinkage. In the drying process, the volume of silica brick increases with the increase of temperature, and in the drying process, the maximum expansion of silica brick occurs between 100 ℃ and 300℃. The main reason is that four crystal transformation points (117℃, 163℃, 180~270℃ and 573℃) appear in SiO2 in the oven process, among which the volume expansion caused by quartz is the largest between 180 ℃ and 270℃.
It should be noted in the process of use of silicon brick, when its working temperature is lower than 600~700℃, the volume of silicon brick changes greatly, the performance of resistance to rapid cooling and rapid heating is poor, and the thermal stability is not good. If the coke oven works at this temperature for a long time, the masonry is easy to break.

It is mainly used for the partition wall of coking chamber and combustion chamber, regenerator and sediment chamber of steelmaking open hearth furnace, equalizing furnace, refractory of glass melting furnace and firing kiln of ceramics and other bearing parts of kiln furnace. Also used in hot air furnace high temperature bearing parts and acid open hearth furnace top etc.
